An empty grave: the new has come. Because of Jesus, we are made new! During this series, you will lead kids through the story of redemption\u2014a story that began at creation and the fall, climaxed at the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, and continues through all who walk in new identities as God\u2019s children! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Easter isn\u2019t merely an ancient story disconnected from our modern reality. The story of Easter reaches into our lives and changes the very core of who we are!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Created New.mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/801328531?h=af06a8e80a&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Series Invitation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With the arrival of Easter, I am provoked to two extremes of feeling. I feel excitement and hope as I picture the children coming to celebrate Christ\u2019s resurrection. But, as I start to prepare and think about everything that needs to get done, I also feel anxious and overwhelmed. I fall into the trap of getting so busy \u201cdoing God\u2019s work\u201d that I miss the real work that God wants to do within me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>Through Jesus, we are free to live surrendered to the will of God, in the safety of His perfect love, no longer having to prove ourselves to anyone.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I wonder about the root of my anxiety. Why do I believe the lie that only I can do the task at hand? Let\u2019s spend a few minutes slowing down and talking with God in silence. Read&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2%20Corinthians%205:17&amp;src=tools&amp;version=NIRV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2 Corinthians 5:17<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This verse reminds us that through Jesus, we are made new. Our former fallbacks\u2014pride, reliance on works, self-promotion, self- justification\u2014are part of the old. They are gone! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through Jesus, we are free to live surrendered to the will of God, in the safety of His perfect love, no longer having to prove ourselves to anyone. So, reminded of that truth, how do you feel going into Easter?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s celebrate the wonder of being created new! It\u2019s not something we deserve by our own merits but something we are given by God\u2019s grace, through His Son, Jesus Christ.
